About The Plan

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency  and the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs  have developed a fully integrated, innovative, and actionable State Hazard Mitigation and Climate Adaptation Plan. The integrated plan addresses the Commonwealth’s federally mandated hazard mitigation plan requirements and, in response to Executive Order 569, “Establishing an Integrated Climate Change Strategy for the Commonwealth” issued by Governor Charlie Baker in September 2016, results in a first-of-its-kind statewide hazard mitigation and climate adaptation plan while empowering State agencies to tactically and effectively achieve multiple risk management objectives. The plan includes the robust identification, evaluation, and prioritization of strategies to reduce current and future threats and vulnerabilities across Massachusetts, and to do so in a fully comprehensive, integrated manner.
